Puriya Cream Review – My Eczema Results and Does it Work?

5.0 rating

When I last had a flare up, I bought Puriya Cream and I’ve been really happy with the results so far. I wanted to provide a real review from an actual person living with eczema, instead of those blogs that just recommend stuff to get a commission even if they have never had skin problems before.

The Puriya Mother of All Creams is used for dry, rough, and sensitive skin.

In short, Puriya Cream is inexpensive, made with all-natural ingredients, and has worked wonders for me. It’s not a perfect cream and has its cons which I will mention in this review, but I am happy with my purchase and it certainly helped.

In fact, I am happy enough with this cream that I always have it stocked at my place.

After using this cream for almost a year now, I just wanted to give an update. I still use it when needed and have not had any horrible experiences. The only issues I have ever had were (1) sometimes feeling a tingling sensation, and (2) sometimes getting redness for a bit. Most of the time that doesn’t happen though.

How Puriya Cream works

Puriya is a moisturizing cream. The intensive moisturizing helps strengthen the skin’s natural barrier. This hydrating effect also helps reduce discomfort and soothe the skin.

Puriya vs Other OTC Creams

The most popular over-the-counter (OTC) remedies to fight skin problems are all cream-based, somewhat natural, and mostly easily accessible products. However, Puriya is different from the most popular products on the market through its ingredients list and its target demographic.

Puriya vs Aveeno

Puriya is a respected and popular skin remedy, holding its own against the best options you might have already heard of, such as Aveeno Eczema Therapy.

Unlike Aveeno, Puriya is all-natural and doesn’t use the same standardized pharmacy-style approach to skin care products. I believe this is why Puriya appeals to customers more interested in a natural-based cream.

I am generally a fan of most of Aveeno’s products, but when it comes to my eczema breakouts, Aveeno is way too heavy. I believe this is from the “dimethicone” ingredient, which I can feel my skin does not absorb even several hours later. On the other hand, Puriya is non-greasy, non-irritating, and a gentle formula.

Puriya vs Cortizone 10

Puriya is also specially designed to experience comfort, which is not something I can say about Cortizone 10 Eczema Lotion which I think it feels oily and doesn’t really help much with itch.

I did like the fact that Cortizone 10 is relatively thick. This helped initially moisturize my skin but quickly wore off and the itching came back pretty quickly. In contrast, Puriya helps relieve the discomfort without the greasy feeling.

In terms of packaging and pricing, it is worth noting that Cortizone 10 comes in a 3.5 ounce size with a small price point to make it enticing to at least try.

Puriya vs Eucerin

Finally, another Puriya competitor is Eucerin Eczema Relief Cream. Eucerin is enriched with Colloidal Oatmeal, Ceramide 3, and Licorice Root extract which are essentially skin protectants.

Unfortunately even with these ingredients, Eucerin actually made my skin flaky and more irritated. It initially soothed but within hours I had an uncontrollable itch that made my eczema worse off. Everyone has different reactions to products but my skin generally seems to react positively with Puriya.

Puriya – Active Ingredients

Now you are probably wondering what are the active ingredients in Puriya. According to their website, the main “powerful secret ingredient” is Amaranth Oil.

Amaranth Oil (Squalene)

Amaranth oil is derived from the Amaranth plant, which contains the highest amount of Squalene (7%) of any known source. Squalene is a powerful natural plant compound, which helps hydrate the skin and balance oil production. It has powerful anti-aging properties but more importantly for us, anti-inflammatory benefits to help with eczema.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a soothing, desert plant species and contains antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E along with a high content of minerals including calcium, zinc, selenium, and magnesium. All together, provides a healing, protective moisturizer.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the Africa shea tree and is known for having anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Packed with high-antioxidant vitamins A and E, Shea Butter stimulates cell repair and heals damaged skin. Especially helpful in our case, it soothes itching skin and restores moisture naturally and quickly.

Additional Ingredients

  • High Oleic Safflower Oil – The Omega-9 fatty acid locks in moisture. It is also high in Vitamin E which is great for both hair and skin.
  • Avocado Oil – The fat content and Vitamin E promotes collegen production of the skin.
  • Jojoba Oil – The Vitamin E and B-complex helps skin repair by reducing redness caused by drying.
  • Honey – The Antibacterial and Anti-septic properties speeds up the skin cell healing process.
  • MSM (Sulfur) – Strengthens important skin proteins and also helps damaged skin.
  • Citric Acid – Exfoliates dead skin cells to help clean pores while softening an even skin tone.
  • Carrot Seed Essential Oil – Anti-fungal and Anti-oxidant properties also helps with anti-aging.
  • Rosemary Extract – Rosmarinic Acid lightens blemishes on the skin and reduces swelling.

How to Apply Puriya Cream?

Per the directions from Puriya, test a small sample area for allergies. Consult your physician if you intend to use this cream in conjunction with other topical prescription or over-the counter remedies. Mixing products can potentially result in adverse reactions. Apply topically to affected areas as needed.

When trying out new skin products, I usually try a small pea-size amount on a healthy region of my skin such as the back of my hand. After about ten minutes and no irritation, I will then try a small pea-size amount on my affected skin before applying more. After another ten minutes, if there is no irritation, apply to your affected skin as needed.

What Do Other Users Think of Puriya Cream?

An overwhelming majority of customers report that Puriya Cream is highly effective for eczema along with several other skin conditions.

There are multiple reviews reporting quick and noticeably visible improvement of the skin. Some reviewers even experienced immediate relief of eczema symptoms that they have been living with for many years.

In comparison to prescription hydrocortisone cream, which lead to reduction of inflammation and redness, Puriya does an effective job for an over the counter (OTC) solution. Hydrocortisone creams contain steroids and should not be used long-term because of the many dangerous side effects.

How Much Does Puriya Cream Cost?

Puriya Mother of All Creams can be found at your local supermarkets or from an online retailer. Depending on where you buy the product and where you are physically located, the cost will vary between $29 to $45 USD. Puriya and its retailers offer a full refund in the event that you are not satisfied with the product.

Conclusion

Puriya Cream had successful results with my eczema flare ups. It more than worked since it has prevented future flare ups from happening to my skin. Everyone’s skin reacts differently so I can’t promise it will do the same for you. However, at such a low price point and without the need of a prescription, it is definitely worth a try.
