Ora’s Amazing Herbal – My Eczema Remedy and Result

5.0 rating

Eczema flare-ups can make you feel like your life is ending. A simple trip to the grocery can leave the poor kid next to you scarred as they watch you try to scratch your itch with an aisle-three fly swatter.

It’s the annoying itch that never goes away and the dull pain that keeps you awake at night when the inflammation is bad. So, how do you combat it effectively?

Eczema Skin Review is here to help. Our product reviews help people just like you tame and control their eczema and concurrent skin conditions with the best creams and products on the market.

Understanding Eczema

Besides stress and weather, there’s no single identifiable eczema trigger. Dry patches, itching, and dull pain can appear out of nowhere. Having a product on-hand to tackle your flare-ups is important because you never know when they’ll strike.

Today, I’m reviewing Ora’s Amazing Herbal eczema salve, and we’re pretty excited. This is the first herbal salve review I’m doing for this site, and after using it for an entire month, I couldn’t wait to share my experience.

Herbal Remedies for Eczema – My First Impressions of Using a Salve to Combat Symptoms: Ora’s Amazing Herbal Review

Salve is just another name for ointment, but I swear I can tell the difference between salve products and traditional eczema creams because of its immediate nourishing qualities.

This salve has a unique gel-like texture, and it’s what I’ve come to swear by. Thick and soothing, this salve boasts high surface area coverage and an extremely low price point.

Scent

It’s fragrance-free, but it does have a slight scent from its natural products. It’s hard to place, but the light scent reminds me of Aloe Vera gel or that amazing smell fresh-cut Christmas trees have.

Size

I’ll be completely honest, I was frustrated to learn they only sold this product in two sizes; small and smaller, because I just want to use it all the time. While I adored the cute Mason Jar packaging, I always felt like I was running out.

The smallest size contains 1 oz. while the larger jar contains 4 oz.

Since it does tend to go on thicker than traditional creams, I’d recommend keeping another jar on hand just in case you experience a flare-up halfway through your last 4 oz. jar.

The 1 oz. jar is absolutely perfect for your purse, which is terrific if you’re tired of lugging tubes and jars of massive products around town.

Texture

Cool to touch and soft on the skin, I loved it’s deep moisturizing and nurturing capabilities. It takes a few applications to get used to its cool temperature and unique texture, but you’ll forget all about once your skin starts curing itself.

Color

It really does look like hair gel! In the jar, it more closely resembles a tinted gel, but on the skin, it has no color to it. It dries perfectly clear as it absorbs deep down quickly.

Cost

You can get this product starting around $12, which makes it the lowest priced eczema-specific product I’ve been able to find.

For the largest size, this salve scanned in around $28. I was able to get it on sale through Amazon, so it truly ended up being the most cost-effective product I’ve reviewed yet.

Summation

Despite its smaller size, I really just fell in love with this product. I liked it more than traditional creams because it did the trick in a pinch, and I could use it all over my body regardless of where the flare-up was occurring.

How Does Salve Compare to Cream for Treating Eczema?

The salve gave me instant relief, but it has to be used sparingly. I’m used to using creams that are applied in larger amounts, so you have to remind yourself not to dig right in when you twist the lid off. Less is more with this product.

I found that the salve was best used for targeted areas and troublesome spots. I liked that I could use it around my eyes and on my eyelids. Most creams aren’t recommended for use around the eyes, so this was a major score.

It’s deep absorption combined with its ability to reduce light swelling made me really take notice, and I never left the house without the baby-sized jar in my purse.

Important Ingredients for Sensitive Skin

This product is all-natural and absorbs rapidly. Both of these factors ensured that I didn’t break out or make my other conditions flare-up. One dab here and a little dab there and I was itch-free for almost twelve hours.

It’s absolutely made for people with sensitive skin who are prone to eczema-related skin conditions.

If you’re prone to breakouts and have been struggling to find a cream that doesn’t annoy your sensitive skin, I would highly recommend trying the salve for yourself. You notice the difference instantly, and you don’t have to worry about staining your clothing with greasy creams.

Grapeseed

Grapeseed is this product’s largest ingredient. Forming the backbone of the salve, this non-GMO grapeseed oil tackled troubles easily.

I know a ton of people who react poorly to grapeseed oil. It didn’t seem to bother me or anyone I know whatsoever. The concentration of the grapeseed and blend of other herbal ingredients worked perfectly to ease my symptoms.

Licorice Root

I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever taken notice of a product that had licorice root in it, but Ora’s boats it in spades.

As its second latest ingredient, licorice is known for targeting redness, evening skin tones, and delivering antioxidant punches directly to your skin.

Whether it was the licorice root or the other herbal elements, I could see visibly noticeable changes in my redness in the first week.

Notable Ingredients

Vitamin E and Coconut Oil are two popular ingredients that are present in the salve. Much like traditional eczema creams, these ingredients are pretty standard fare for skin products.

Important for the skin healing and rejuvenation process, these ingredients moisturize and nourish skin while minimizing scarring.

It’s worth noting that users with coconut sensitivity can use the manufacturer’s baby version. Newborn salve is specifically developed for young users and coconut sensitive people.

Salving My Skin Woes: A One-Month Review of Using Touchy Skin Salve for My Skin Conditions

I applied Ora’s Amazing Herbals up to three times a day to my flare-ups and breakouts for a period of one month. These were my results.

Day One

Noticeable and immediate improvement in my flare-up and patchy areas. The salve absorbed surprisingly quickly. Light and non-greasy once absorbed, I was able to put on clothes and apply makeup right away.

Day Three

Much softer and more elastic skin was both noticeable and observed. Areas that had been scarring in dry patches were already beginning to heal. Swollen areas due to inflammation started to subside.

Most obviously, the redness around my scalp and eyes was diminished. My eyes especially looked much improved and they felt refreshed.

One Week

After one week, dramatic changes were observed. Serious recovery in my driest areas and flare-up affected areas was evident, and I was thrilled.

My visible scarring had begun to subside. The swollen and inflamed areas around my breakouts had begun to heal.

There was a totally noticeable difference between day one and day seven.

One Month

After using this product for one month, I really just could not get enough of it.

Since I only used it for specific breakout areas, I combined it with other products like Atopis to maximize my all-over body needs for non-essential areas. It paired fantastically and they complemented one another.

I enjoyed that this formula did a lot to nourish the surrounding areas of my dry patches without causing excessive skin greasiness or blemishes.

More than anything, I was absolutely thrilled with the redness elimination and the decreased inflammation of my skin. The typical throbbing my skin experienced was almost non-existent.

It’s really important to also mention that this product did not sting or burn when I applied to even the most severe areas. This was pretty huge for me because so many competitor products always left me feeling the burn.

Product Questions From Our Readers

Is Salve Greasy?

Surprisingly, no. You would think it would be based on the way it looks and its texture, but you can tell from the first time you use it that it’s definitely not a greasy product.

Did You Find You Need to Use a lot of It?

Absolutely not. Use a small amount sparingly on critical areas and combine it with an all-over cream for non-flare-up areas. Use a dab for each breakout patch.

Can You Use It Every Day or Just During Flare-Ups?

While I’m sure using it every day would be just fine, I’d personally recommend just using it on affected areas during flare-ups and for areas that are in need of some extra TLC.
